Let's Use Our Voice: Black Lives Matter #2

At ADCN, we wholeheartedly support Black Lives Matter and, like most brands, agencies and trade unions, are actively working to increase diversity, inclusiveness and anti-racism in our field. Openness and curiosity are fundamental principles of creativity and we very much hope that our members and community actively engage with this crucially important topic.

Immersing yourself in culture is an essential part of our profession. Creating and sharing art has always been a core factor of ADCN's (educational) activities and by doing so, we aim to provide creative inspiration. We’re proud to present this week’s contributions to our Black Lives Matter open call. Please help us to stop the silence and make the change. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

KELLY VERDONK

'Black Lives Really Matter'

iemand schreeuwde:

mijn buik doet pijn, mijn nek doet pijn

alles doet pijn, ik heb water nodig, alstublieft

vermoord me niet

Dat dan politieagenten snel worden ontslagen als

antwoord op het voorkomen van losgeslagen demonstraties,

niet als antwoord op

rechtvaardigheid

Hoe ga je dan om met het zoveelste voorbeeld van

politiegeweld tegen donkere Amerikanen?

De woede, vermoeidheid

Laten we de Amerikaanse werkelijkheid

als spiegel gebruiken om onrechtvaardigheid op eigen

bodem bespreekbaar maken

Laten we de grootste demonstratie ooit worden. Laten we de stilte verbreken.

Art and design have always been at the core of supporting global movements. Now more than ever, it can help aid, share and empower the messages of the Black Lives Matter movement to help bring about systemic change in our society.

Signs of Change would like to call on creatives from near and far to submit their designs and join them on their mission. Learn more here.
