Creative Collider #6:

The Creative Community Gets a Taste: Food & Creativity

Food and creativity have a long history. From the act of cooking and preparing meals, to the cultural and social significance of food, there are numerous ways in which food and creativity intersect. Some might even argue that humans' first creative spark was indeed about preparing and cooking the first primordial meals.

Our first Creative Collider of 2023 will delve into the intersection between creativity and food, hearing from inspiring creatives to explore how and where the two meet. In typical Creative Collider fashion, we will consider this topic from a diverse range of perspectives. Join and learn how these creatives approach cooking, how food can bring communities together, and how it can serve as a daily source of inspiration for our creative flow.

Speakers:

Julia Khan Anselmo is an entrepreneur working as a freelance event producer, designer, Creative Director and cook. Julia’s disparate yet intertwined skillsets gives her a unique perspective on creating meaningful and memorable culinary experiences.

Julia is the founder of Feisty Feast, a global event series that celebrates and connects women through powerful topics and a feast. Feisty Feast is a production agency that creates moments for people to connect through creative culinary experiences and ideas. We believe that food is the most powerful connector. Our goal is to elevate the brands we work with and create memorable experiences for our clients and the guests we invite. When she isn't producing events or cooking something delicious, she is travelling where she gains inspiration for her womenswear brand LAASSO.

Lukas from Poland lived many lives before opening Casa Lawa, a lavastone-constructed guesthouse, kitchen and residency near Mount Etna in Sicily. Back in Poland, he graduated master degree in psychology. In the meanwhile he started to work in fashion and with television productions where he quickly realised that he's more a creative than a therapist. After moving to Berlin, he opened a vintage store and run his shop until meeting his future husband in one of the most world famous club, Berghain. By the end of 2014 Lukas moved to Amsterdam where he kept working as a creative. During the pandemic he delved into food by cooking home, delivering meals, and endlessly organising small dinners.

Inspired by nature and its richness, Lukas brings his admiration and awareness for our environment to the table. What we eat, how it is farmed and how many miles our food travels is key to protecting and preserving nature. And these are also the questions Lukas asks himself before every project.

Cooking is more than just an artisanal process. It’s an intuitive way to explore, capture and share feelings and stories. Lukas puts every flavour, smell, colour, picture, and sense he encounters, in everything he does. Whether it’s a stroll along the shoreline of the North Sea, a trip through the dense forests of Thailand, or as simple as the herbs on his balcony or the mushrooms he picks with mum in the winter.

Samantha Koch is an Australian gut health and wholefood advocate, recipe developer, cook and founder of Healthy Happy based in Amsterdam. She works globally with a number of health food bloggers, authors, brands and restaurants in business, brand marketing and talent management.

It was a new and exciting time to connect trailblazer foodies with their die-hard fan base worldwide!

Following each presentation, there will be a Q&A with the audience.
