700,000 impressions through blogs, Facebook and Twitter. The result: a 40% increase in cover band bookings.
The Allstars cover band want to increase their bookings. With their lead singer back from maternity leave, now is the time to show the world how good they are. Even though they’re convinced, telling people you’re the best cover band around just isn’t that believable. We need others to do that. Not their friends. Not their clients. But an independent jury. As independent as possible. Because if the jury says they’re good, then it must be true.
And if that jury just happens to be different from the norm, it leads to media interest, increased awareness and more bookings. We went in search of the most independent jury around. And found it in an app: Shazam. Shazam is the best way to instantly recognise any piece of music. In just a few seconds this app can name that song no matter where or how you hear it – on TV, in a bar or on the radio.
We initiated an interesting experiment, by cleverly involving this popular music app: Hacking the system. And we left it up to Shazam to decide if Allstars cover band really was as good as its members claimed. It worked! Allstars managed to trick Shazam into thinking that they really were Rihanna, Robin S, Avicii, 2Unlimited and David Guetta. Conclusion: if Shazam believes you’re the real deal, then you really must be The World’s Best Cover Band.
The members of the Allstars cover band wanted to let everybody know how good they are in order to gain more bookings. Competition in the Netherlands is high, so it was essential this cover band stood out from the crowd.
