Little Big Speakers
For the Opkikker Foundation, we transformed young patients into motivational speakers. Companies all across Holland booked the speakers in exchange for a fee, which was donated to the foundation to help other sick children.
Instead of a one-off donation campaign, we created a sustainable business model,as new kids are trained to tell their story next year.
We managed to give the Foundation a unique way to raise funds. Creating the first platform ever where you can book young motivational speakers. Where kids are compensated as professionals, with companies paying up to €2.500 for a talk.
It was a win-win-win, The Opkikker Foundation raised money to help new children, up till now 12 companies were inspired, and the kids got a new way to talk about their illness, as they turned their stigma into their strength.
To raise funds, we turned to the inspiring life stories of the kids the foundation helped. And transformed 5 young patients into motivational speakers.
Over the course of a year, we trained them with the help of a professional TedX coach,worked on their stage presence and connected them to famous motivators, like Andre Kuijpers (Dutch Astronaut) to give them final tips & tricks.
Once they were ready, we launched the platform Little Big Speakers and invited all of corporate Holland to book the speakers in exchange for a fee. Which was completely donated to The Opkikker Foundation.
The Opkikker Foundation
Each year the Opkikker Foundation organises special days out for children with a serious illness, renting out complete theme parks to treat kids to a fun filled day. Kids that visit an event often become ambassadors of the foundation, helping out where they can.
Brief
When the Opikker Foundation came to us, their brief was twofold; they asked for a new, more structural way to raise funds and were looking for a concept that they could make their own.
Challenge
For years, the foundation had been getting most of their funds from the same group of loyal supporters. Our concept needed to connect them to a new audience.
