• annual judging of Advertising and Design entries;
  • presentation of the ADCN Lamps for the awarded entries;
  • organisation of the annual ADCN advertising festival;
  • publication of the ADCN Annual of Dutch Advertising, which comprises all the Awards (Lamps) and nominations (an English translation is always included);
  • organisation of workshops;
  • organisation of the annual ADCN Open Days, an exhibition of the majority of entries.

The most important of the above activities are the Advertising Awards and publication of the Annual of Dutch Advertising.

Every year advertising and design agencies and freelancers enter advertising and design work produced during the preceding year. These materials are judged by various juries and by the jury of members according to the aims of the ADCN. The principal criteria are creativity and originality.
Each jury grants in its respective category (needless to say only with good reason), awards and honourable mentions. These are included in the Annual of Dutch Advertising. With these Annuals the ADCN endeavours to create a bit of historiography from which people in the advertising and design business can take example.

The mission of the organisation as laid down in its Articles of Association is:
To publicise and improve the creative standard of commercial communication and related disciplines.
